If you stay up all night soothing a child, then hang in there! You’ll sleep normal hours again. To help you keep your baby’s teeth soothed, we’ve amassed a tiny bit of information for you on dental care for babies. If you have any queries about this data, or if you’d like to bring your child in for a visit, please feel free to call our office at 978-957-1898.
Although your baby would probably like sugar water or juice, feeding them those things would be a short-term fix only. Just like with your adult teeth, too much sweet chemicals can be dangerous. When you give your child a bottle, use only milk, breast milk or formula. Your child’s teeth will stay stronger and they’ll be happier in the long-run.
Another thing we commonly see is that a few parents like to coat pacifiers in sugar or honey. Please don’t do this! The extra amount of sugar is sure to make problems for your child’s teeth, eventually causing cavities and tooth decay. Additionally, don’t place your child’s pacifier in your mouth before giving it to them: doing so might cause a destructive transmission of bacteria.
